Question on EU Students from Shadow Immigration Minister
Question asked on Monday 3 July 2017
On Monday 3 July, the newly appointed shadow immigration minister, Afzal Khan, asked a question during Home Office questions about EU students. Notes on the exchange can be found below:
Afzal Khan: The PM’s remarks on EU nationals too little, too late. Failed to reassure & prevent brain drain in high value industries, academia & students. Can he clarify the Government’s position on EU students who will be part-way through studies when we leave EU?
Answered by Minister of State for Immigration, Brandon Lewis:
Brandon Lewis: The offer made applies to all EU residents so in that sense makes no change to position to students.
